About the Club

The Berkeley Enthusiast’s Club was founded in 1963 as a replacement for the Berkeley Sports Car Club, which was organised to promote Berkeley cars in sporting events. From the very beginning the club was run with the manifesto of keeping Berkeley’s running on the roads. Initially this took the form of keeping owners in touch with each other, keeping a source of spares, technical literature and even helping to develop and update the various models.

In recent years, all 3 and 4 wheeled Berkeley models have become recognised as classic cars and the emphasis of the club is now on helping members to restore cars to original specification. The old ‘transitionary’ period has not been forgotten however, and the club has a contingent of members with modified cars.

The club has a steadily growing membership in excess of 300 members nationwide, with additional members overseas in many parts of the world.

On receipt of your membership and enrolment  fees you will be able to take advantage of the following services offered by the club.

1. Monthly newsletters are posted to all members. These contain a diary of events and articles involving Berkeley’s, microcar and other transport related events. The latest news items on Berkeley’s and club matters. Members letters and technical tips. Free advertisements for cars and parts. Details of the latest spares sources and restoration services. The newsletter also lists the when and where of local gatherings.

2. A Technical service, which makes available a large range of service sheets, parts books and archive material. Technical questions and troubleshooting enquiries are answered by experienced owners.

3. A Spares Service to help locate or supply members with difficult to obtain parts. Parts no longer available are re-manufactured and are only available to BEG members. A stock of second hand and re-conditioned parts are also available. An updated spares list is published in the newsletter at regular intervals

4. A wide range of Club Regalia is available to compliment your Berkeley at events and rallies.

5. A Berkeley register is held by the club, which lists all known cars since 1964 and whatever history is known about the car
Assistance and advice for lost registration numbers, processing DVLA and insurance applications.

6. The club holds an annual Rally for Berkeley’s which is open to other microcars. We also support other rallies and special or local events where microcars are welcome. Classic car and motorcycle shows are also attended.

7, Regular monthly section meetings in some areas. A membership list exists to enable you to contact Berkeley owners in your area.

8. A club photo album, in which you are invited to display a photo of your Berkeley. The album is displayed at selected events.
